Headwaters Academy recognizes that the future of work is rapidly changing. It is very possible that the challenge for students in the future won’t be so much finding a job as it will be creating a job. To prepare our students for this challenge Headwaters Academy actively teaches, encourages, and mentors young entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurship at Headwaters has two main streams – independent entrepreneurship by our students as well as Headwaters Academy’s structured businesses.
We also believe that entrepreneurship cannot be fully defined by dollars and cents – social, environmental, charitable, and community entrepreneurship is also strongly encouraged.
For 2017 Headwaters Academy’s initial structured entrepreneurial opportunities will focus on maple syrup production and beekeeping.
